Our partners at Invite Joy sent us these pictures of a new water tower project that was just completed in the village of Kaibo in Burkina Faso.
The solar panels on top of the tank (they get plenty of sunlight since they are about the same latitude as Panama) power a submersible well pump that’s about 250 feet underground, and that pump fills the tank. If the tank is full then the pump shuts off. These setups are roughly double the cost of a hand pump, but they can roughly serve double the number of people.
Right now you can DOUBLE your donation for clean water thanks to a generous donor who is matching donations for World Water Day! Help us reach our goal of $25,000 for March!
